Update & New JJM President

Dear Jesuit Jr. Marauder Family,

Welcome to the start the 2020 Season!  We begin this season with eagerness, excitement and hope, but unavoidably some uncertainty.   We are excited to get everyone registered and eager for our players to get out on the field and playing the game we all love.  Right now, the Jesuit Jr. Marauder Board is hard at work doing everything we can to make sure that this season will be the best and safest one to date.  We are planning for football practice to kickoff at the end of July.  We already have many great coaches lined up for all age groups dedicated to the spirit of JJM and ready to work on the fundamentals with out athletes.

I hope that you and your kids are as enthusiastic as I am for the season to begin.  When our lives begin to return to normalcy, I know sports will be a crucial part of that life.  As President of Jesuit Jr. Marauders, I want to promise players and assure parents that I am dedicated to the safety of our players.  It is my goal that each player has a positive experience, and that our players not only learn the game of football or the routines in cheer, but learn the important life lessons of teamwork, leadership, and sportsmanship.

I recognize that the past few months have shown us all that despite our best intentions nothing is guaranteed.  While much remains out of our control, I will do my best to keep the Marauder Family informed as things progress and develop with the season.  Unfortunately, this year we are unable to put on the free football clinic as they typically occur early in the summer and we have not received clearance to conduct these clinics.  We are looking into alternative events to make this up to our players, but these may need to occur later in the year.

Finally, as registration for the season opens in the next couple of days, we know that many have been hit hard by the economic impact of the pandemic and extracurricular activities and expenses must be weighed with necessities.  I strongly encourage families to review the various payment plans that have been made available to you when you register.  I completely understand how the uncertainty in the months to come, will impact your choice of payment, but it is my sincere hope that it does not impact your decision to allow your children to engage in sports when it is safe to do so.

Yours in Football,

Anthony Clarke
