A Miracle in the making

What began as a vision fueled by perseverance and dedication became a reality for Sacramento youth in 2011. Founders Scott Brownholtz, Brad Burgess, and Charlie Bisharat came together with a shared passion to create the Jesuit Jr. Marauders Youth Football and Cheer Program, building a foundation that continues to impact young athletes and families in the community.

HISTORY OF JJM

A Miracle in the Making The headline read, “Years of perseverance and dedication payoff for Sacramento youth in 2011”. JJM Founders Scott Brownholtz, Brad Burgess and Charlie Bisharat shared a timeline of events leading up to the creation of the JJM Youth Football and Cheer Program. 

 2008 - 2011 

 February 2008 - A call to JHS head coach Dan Carmazzi about a feeder football program. While none existed at the time, a commitment to develop one was made. 

 January 2010 - JHS approves support of a program March 2010 - Brownholtz, Burgess & Bisharat meet with Carmazzi to discuss Jr Marauders, with full support, JJM is officially created. 

 May 2010 - The first JJM Board of Directors was elected. 

October 2010 - A press conference is held and announces the creation of the Jesuit Jr. Marauders. 

March 2011 - JJM opened registration for their inaugural season and had 62 athletes registered. 

 July 2011 - The first skills camp was held and 165 athletes have registered. 

 September 2011 - JJM took the field for the first game and swept Mesa Verde. 134 football players along with 26 cheerleaders and 26 coaches ended the season with two undefeated championships. 

 2020 2021 Happy 10th Birthday! Between 2011 and 2019 the Jesuit Jr. Marauders have touched the lives of nearly 1300 athletes, their families and friends. With the continued support of the Jesuit High School administration, athletic department, the community and of course, the families, we intend to serve 2000 more Jr. Marauders in the next decade.

February 2008

A call was made to Jesuit High School Head Coach Dan Carmazzi to explore the idea of a feeder football program. While none existed at the time, a commitment to create one was established.

Jesuit High School officially approved support for the progra


March 2010

Founders Scott Brownholtz, Brad Burgess, and Charlie Bisharat met with Coach Carmazzi. With full support, the Jesuit Jr. Marauders (JJM) was officially created.


May 2010

March 2011

 Registration opened for the inaugural season, with 62 athletes signing up.


July 2011

The first skills camp was held, growing participation to 165 registered athletes.


September 2011

JJM played its first official games, sweeping Mesa Verde. The season included 134 football players, 26 cheerleaders, and 26 coaches, culminating in two undefeated championship teams.

2020–2021 – Celebrating 10 years of impact, JJM had reached nearly 1,300 athletes and their families between 2011 and 2019. With continued support from Jesuit High School, the community, and families, the program looks forward to serving 2,000 more Jr. Marauders in the next decade.
